How do I create and use modifiers for my menu items?
Modifiers allow customers to customize their orders, such as choosing toppings for a pizza or the type of milk for a coffee.
Creating a Modifier Group:
- To get started, login to your Menu Tiger,
- Go to
Menus > Modifiers
. - Click
+ Add New
. - Define the modifier group:
- Name: e.g., "Coffee Add-ons".
- Type: Choose from
- Optional: Customers can skip the selection.
- Required: Customers must make a choice before adding the item to the cart.
- Allow adding same choices multiple times: Lets customers select an option more than once.
- Modifiers: Add the individual choices (e.g., "Extra Shot," "Soy Milk") with their corresponding prices.
- Click Save.
Assigning Modifiers:
- To a Category: When creating or editing a category, select the modifier group from the 'Modifier Groups' dropdown. This applies the modifier to all items in that category.
- To an Item: When creating or editing an item, go to the 'Modifier Options' tab and select the modifier group.
Note:
Assigning a modifier at the item level will override the category-level modifier.
