How do I create and manage categories in my menu?

Categories are used to group your food items, such as "Appetizers," "Main Courses," or "Drinks."


Creating a Category:

  1. To get started, login to your Menu Tiger,
  2. Navigate to Menus and click on the menu where you want to add a category.
  3. Click the + button in the 'Categories' column.
  4. Fill in the details:
    • Name & Description: Required fields for the category.
    • Modifier Groups: Apply a pre-made modifier group to all items in this category automatically.
    • Tax Categories: Apply a tax setting to all items in this category.
  1. Click Save.

Managing Categories:

  • Setting Visibility: Click the three dots on a category and select 'Visibility'. You can make a category permanently hidden, or schedule it to be visible only on certain days and times.
  • Editing: Click 'Edit' to change the name, description, or assigned modifiers/taxes.
  • Translating: Use the 'Localize' tab in the edit screen to add translations.
  • Deleting: Click 'Delete' to remove the category and all items within it.
  • Rearranging: Click and drag the six dots to the left of a category name to change its order of appearance on the customer menu.
