How do I set up taxes for my menu items?


The 'Taxations' feature allows you to create and apply tax rules to your menu items to ensure accurate pricing and compliance with local regulations.

Creating a Tax Category:

  1. Go to Stores > Taxations .
  2. Click + Add New .
  3. Fill in the tax details:
    • Name: e.g., "VAT," "Sales Tax."
    • Type: Choose whether the tax is included in the price or added at checkout.
    • Dine-in % / Take-out %: Set the tax rate for each order type.
  1. Click Save.

Applying Taxes:

You can apply a tax rule in two ways:

  • At the Category Level: When creating or editing a category, select the tax from the 'Tax Categories' dropdown.

This applies the tax to all items within that category.

  • At the Item Level: When creating or editing an item, select the tax from the 'Tax categories' dropdown.

Applying a tax at the item level will override the category-level tax setting.
