Why is my menu not showing when a customer scans a QR code?
If customers scan a table QR code and the menu does not load or appears empty, it is almost always caused by a misconfiguration in the store or menu settings. Follow this troubleshooting checklist to solve the problem.
Troubleshooting Checklist:
Check if the Menu is Linked to the Correct Store
A menu will not appear if it is not assigned to the specific store where the table QR code is being used.
Steps to check:
- Log in to the Menu Tiger Admin Panel.
- Navigate to Stores from the side panel and select the correct store.
- Go to the Settings tab.
- Find the Store Menu dropdown field.
- Ensure the menu you want to display is selected here.
- Click Save.
Verify That 'Dine-in' Mode is Enabled for the Store
Table QR codes are specifically for dine-in customers. If this mode is turned off for the store, the menu will not be accessible.
Steps to check:
- Log in to the Menu Tiger Admin Panel.
- Navigate to Stores > [Your Store Name] > Settings.
- Find the toggle switch for Enable dine-in.
- Make sure this toggle is switched on.
- Click Save.
Confirm Items and Categories are Visible for 'Dine-in'
Even if the store is set to "Dine-in," individual food items or entire categories might be hidden.
For Items, follow these steps:
- Log in to the Menu Tiger Admin Panel.
- Navigate to Menus and find the specific item.
- Edit the item and check the Display on setting.
- Ensure that Dine in is selected.
For Categories & Items, follow these steps:
- Log in to the Menu Tiger Admin Panel.
- Navigate to Menus and find the specific item.
- Edit the item and check the Visibility settings for your categories and items.
- Ensure they are not set to "Hidden from menu" or scheduled to appear at a different time or day.
Check Your Store's Opening Hours
The system may prevent menus from showing if the scan occurs outside of the business hours you have set.
Steps to check:
- Log in to the Menu Tiger Admin Panel.
- Navigate to Stores > [Your Store Name] > Opening Hours.
- Confirm that the current day and time fall within the scheduled opening hours for that store.
