What is the Kitchen Display System (KDS) and how do I open it?
The Kitchen Display System (KDS) is a digital screen that replaces paper order tickets in your kitchen. It receives orders electronically from your digital menu or POS system, making your kitchen workflow faster and more organized.
The KDS eliminates messy, handwritten, or smudged paper tickets, making sure every order instruction is clear and tracked in real-time.
Step-by-Step: How to Access Your KDS
The KDS is a web-based system, meaning you can open it on any device with a screen and internet access (like a monitor, desktop computer, or tablet).
- Log in to your MENU TIGER Account: Use your administrator username and password to log into the main MENU TIGER dashboard.
- Find the KDS Section: On the left-side menu of your dashboard, look for and click on the Kitchen Display option.
- Check the Order Types: On the KDS screen, you will see tabs at the top for Dine-In, Takeaway, Delivery, and Pickup. These tabs automatically sort incoming orders by how the customer placed them.
- Open the Live Screen: To start processing orders, click the Open button. This will launch the full-screen KDS interface where new orders will appear instantly.
You have now successfully accessed the live Kitchen Display System screen and are ready to receive and manage customer orders digitally.
KDS Eligibility and Support
- Which plans support KDS? The KDS feature is available exclusively with Premium and Advanced subscription tiers. It is not available on the Freemium or Regular plans, but a 14-day free trial is available.
- Can the KDS work without a POS system? Yes. MENU TIGER's KDS can function independently using the built-in digital menu and QR code-based ordering system.
